Contemporary gilt printed half calf binding with raised bands and gilt printed label. Two pages register; Maps dated between 1744 and 1769. . Included are the world map, the eastern and western part of the world, 13 maps of Asia and the Middle East, 5 of Africa, 16 maps of America (or related to America) include the world map, "Westelykste Deel der Weereld, showing North and South America; North pole; "America" showing North and South America; "Mexico en Nieuw Granada."; "Nieuw Mexico en van California"; "Panama"; "Grootbrittannische Volkplantingen in Noord America", showing New England; "Peru, Chili, Paraguay. Brazil"; "Aller-Heiligen Baay, Brazil"; "Cayenne"; "Suriname en Berbice"; "Guajana"; "Westindische Eilanden", "Martenique"; a detailed plan of the city of New Orleans with insets of the Gulf of Mexico and the mouth of the Mississippi; "Kanada"; "Quebek", 5 maps of Africa and many detailed maps of The Netherlands and other European countries.
Added: (pasted on first endpaper) a hand coloured title page of Blaeu's "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" (edition 1635). Contemporary binding (professionally restored); slight traces of wear; map nr. 23 (Rhyn / Lotharingen) with minor moisture damage; 2 leaves slightly spotted in the top margins; other maps very clean and in very fine condition with wide margins.
